
Ghostly Hats


Ghostly Hats is a 2D platformer with multiple different abilities. For example: a Magical Orange Hat with the power of Technology that creates springs on soul hibernation (A classy way to describe dying)
And that is what the whole game is about, our play on GMTK's theme of 2025 was death LOOP. All abilities are used on death, select a magical Hat with TAB and platform your way to the newest Hat in Blushes (Main Character) collection.
It is our first try at game design (we went way to big in scale). it is a 2D platformer with multiple different abilities, that all trigger on death. We had to learn the Godot engine and pixel art in about a week. The game lacks polish in almost every way, and we would like to hear about any bugs that you may encounter.
(we also kindly ask not to dive into the code it is a real mess down there. We advise you, for your own sanity, not to look at it)

- opening ability menu on fire platform shoots you into orbit
- main menu music way to loud
- UI doesn't center on fullscreen
- Linux package is missing core file (Ghostly Hats 1.1 LINUX .pck) in upload (file can be obtained through the windows package by renaming Ghostly Hats 1.1 WIN.pck to Ghostly Hats 1.1 LINUX .pck and putting it into the same folder as Ghostly Hats 1.1 Linux.x86_64)
- clipping is possible
- no options screen (music can be turned off by clicking hat in pause menu / main menu)
